Our Services

We provide the following services:

·         Reference Services

You can use our electronic catalogue to find the material you need.  Ask for a leaflet on how to use the system.  If you cannot find the information you want, or need guidance in your research, you may ask the staff at reception to help you.

We issue a new acquisitions list every quarter.  Ask for a copy at the reception.  You may also access the list of material available at various public libraries around Malta and Gozo through the electronic catalogue.

If the document you need is only available from the National Library in Malta, we will get you a copy on microfilm.  We will contact the library on the same day of your request.

We also offer an inter-library loan system through the University of Malta.  If you need a book from the University, call at the reception and make your request by filling in the card provided.  We will submit the request to University within 1 working day. We will let you know the material has arrived within 1 working day from receiving it from University.

We can also search for material related to your projects or research.  Call us 1 working day in advance to tell us what you need. We will collect and prepare all the relevant material we find.

Photocopies of material are available on request. You will need to fill a form and you will receive the copies on the same day.  We will charge you 0.14 per sheet for photocopies from manuscripts or newspapers and 0.12 per sheet from printed books and periodicals.
